Shoulder hydrodilatation is a highly effective treatment for a frozen shoulder. During this procedure, a misture of steroids (cortisone) saline fluid and local anesthetic is injected into your shoulder. How Does Shoulder Hydrodilatation Work?

Once the needle is positioned in your shoulder joint, the fluid is carefully injected, causing the joint to gently stretch. This process is akin to inflating a balloon, gradually loosening the tight joint lining that restricts shoulder movement. Additionally, the mixture of steroids and local anesthetic provides effective pain relief.

The entire procedure typically takes around 15 – 20 minutes.
